Our client is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join their Construction Segment. This role will be responsible for handling large complex loss sensitive construction accounts. Prior experience with risk management/loss sensitive accounts is not required. Must have strong Construction Underwriting background, either in the middle market or loss sensitive space, and come from a production/agency facing underwriting role.

Responsibilities:
Underwrite loss sensitive construction accounts ($500K – several million in premium), adhering to department appetite guidelines. Analyze exposures, loss runs, financials and account pricing, working with actuarial models and other internal departments (credit, claims, risk engineering, etc.). Meet profitability, retention and premium goals. Develop annual business goals for assigned agents/producers. Responsible for leading account stewardship process, coordinating pre & post bind meetings. Work independently, adhering to letter of authority and appetite guidelines. Travel as required (approximately 10% with assigned agents/producers in territory).

Requirements:
5+ years of Underwriting experience. Must have strong experience handling Construction industry accounts. Must have multi-line experience with Workers Compensation, General Liability, Auto and Property/Inland Marine. Experience handling mid to large account premiums ($100K – multi million). Strong communication and analytical skills. CPCU, AINS, ARM or CRIS designations (preferred). Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
