Our client is looking to add a Procurement Specialist to their team in Whippany, NJ! The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment and have previously worked with electro-mechanical components/parts. In this role, the Procurement Specialist will facilitate the development and execution of sourcing strategies, conduct supplier evaluation, conduct negotiations, and drive the continuity of supply improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with internal stakeholders to capture and address sourcing requirements. Identify, select, qualify, and form strategic partnerships with suppliers based on internal and external customer needs. Evaluate suppliers' capabilities regarding quality, technology, service, cost competitiveness, capacity, financial strengths, flexibility, and commitment. Drive cost, quality and continuity of supply improvement. Lead supplier development by evaluating performance and facilitating improvements. Analyze category spend and proactively identify opportunities for improvement. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to reduce no bids. Conduct supplier audits to determine effectiveness of supplier process controls and effectiveness of their QMS (both qualification and ongoing maintenance audits).

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or related field. 5 years sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to travel up to 40%. Aerospace &Defense industry experience a plus. Experience sourcing machined parts, gears and/or circuit card assemblies. Strong understanding of sourcing and supply chain concepts and techniques. Strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills. Lean Six Sigma training and/or certification a plus.
