The HR Director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the HR function. This role will contribute to the development and articulation of the vision and business strategy, and must be able to frame strategy as a compelling and achievable story that inspires hope and action throughout the organization. This role is responsible to drive core HR processes including talent acquisition, HR policy recommendations, interpretation, & administration, employee relations, compensation, organizational design & effectiveness, performance management & talent development, employee engagement and labor relations.
Identifies end to end strategic HR work between business groups. Builds high-performing HR team with right capacity to achieve business objectives. Review and make recommendations for improvements of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters. Proactively manage employee relations issues to manage the people. Responsible for organizational development and effectiveness, talent acquisition, performance management, talent development, policy implementation/administration, employee relations, labor relations, and total rewards. Provides strategic focus to the business and influences important organization decisions and actions. Leads improvement in how the field operates by shaping systems, processes and practices. Support Operations in establishing and executing an effective recruiting strategy (short and long term) and work with the regions and cost centers to source, recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates for management and staff openings. Develop and maintain HRIS. Review, analyze and administer benefits and compensation programs. Supervise and lead HR team and staff. Builds a clear and compelling business case for technologies that increase functional effectiveness and efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s a plus. Leadership experience as and HR Director. 5+ years of experience as HRBP/HR Generalist/HR Manager within a manufacturing environment. Experience working within unionized environment. Experience working with labor relations. Knowledge of data analysis and reporting. Experience supporting operations/manufacturing client groups. In-depth knowledge of employment law, labor relation, investigations, talent acquisition. Project Management experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Demonstrated experience applying independent judgment and discretion on sensitive and complex employee issues and working closely and effectively with leadership at different levels of the organization. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to adapt & respond effectively to a rapid and complex changing work environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with orientation on results.
