Sr. Marketing Manager, Global New Product Development
Sr. Marketing Manager, Global New Product Development/Innovation (Consumer Health and Nutrition) will lead new product development for the Consumer Health & Nutrition global ingredient line with responsibilities including but not limited to: consumer insight generation, concept validation, product positioning, pricing analysis and commercial product launch plans, ensure innovation projects are consistent with business unit strategy and collaborates with the cross functional teams Globally.
Expanding on existing strategic branded ingredient platforms. Develop and deliver new product launches to drive key strategic ingredient growth platforms in Joint Mobility, Active Nutrition and Digestive Health. Identify consumer insights and transforming insights into significant product and other marketing innovations. Work cross-functionally with internal Product Development, Brand, R&D and Operations, Finance teams to lead the new product development process for the global business from initial concept development, forecasting, pricing development, project validation and commercial readiness. Manage new product development process and deliverables throughout approval process. Utilize solid understanding of Ops, R&D and Regulatory environment (how product is made, product formulation, development of claims and clinical research) to product positioning. Identifying white space opportunities in order to launch new ingredients into new market segments. Monitor consumer and market trends both regionally and globally to identify innovation opportunities, able to evaluate trends and stay ahead of trend in the market. Lead internal marketing insights to develop best practices and synthesize market and consumer trends into viable new business opportunities that will deliver strong opportunity for profitable business pipeline and growth. Identify strategic platforms for future growth either through development, partnership or acquisition through solid understanding of the consumer profile and insights. Ensure new claims/benefits deliver on both customer and consumer needs by having a high level of familiarity with competitive CPG environment. Partnering with the strategic business development team on exploratory M&A opportunities. Validates market potential and strategic fit with portfolio for new ingredient categories and potential new targets. Proactive identification of business opportunities and sales targets in close collaboration with commercial development, sales and other stakeholders.
Bachelors’ degree required; MBA strongly preferred. 6-8 years of marketing new product/ innovation role; consumer healthcare markets. Experience building and leading global cross-functional teams. Strong project management skills, understanding full product cycles, with a hands-on mentality and strong consumer orientation. Visionary, creative, out-of-the box thinker. Deep Understanding what’s needed to develop products in an efficient way and with a global approach. Proven track record in delivering global product launches that deliver sales and profit growth. Cross-functional knowledge (Operations, Finance, Sales, Quality and Regulatory). P&L, Budgeting, forecasting and analytical modelling skills required.
