Employee Relations Director (BF)

Job Location: NY, NY or Charlotte, NC

The Employee Relations Director will handle complex employee relations initiatives. They will conduct investigations and provide solutions that are in compliance with governmental and other regulations. They will design, develop and implemented employee relations policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide policy interpretation advice. Advise and counsel on complex issues in an effort to reduce complaints, charges, litigation and related costs. Advise and counsel on complex performance management and other ER issues Investigate employment related discrimination complaints internally to minimize risk/liability and to create a more positive work environment. Conduct and oversee investigations and responds to complaints of alleged harassment, discrimination and other complaints filed. Lead and/or participate in the development of competitive business aligned HR policies Partner with Employment Attorneys on employment related lawsuits. Lead organizational initiatives by influencing and supporting change management and departmental initiatives within assigned areas. Build and develop strategies for Employee Relations and EEO issues Provide solutions and advises on employee relations strategies and risks including, but not limited to employee terminations, adverse impact, severance & outplacement services, employee engagement, conflict resolution, and investigatory techniques. Conduct training on Employee Relation related topics (professional conduct, handling performance issues, EEO highlights, policies). Create employee relations tools for Leadership Teams and Managers

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required. Minimum 6 years of human resources experience and 3+ years of Employee Relations experience. Strong communication skills and experience within a large matrix organization. Ability to be hands-on and work as part of the HR team to build HR processes. Broad HR experience and the ability to make tough decisions. The ability to handle and solve a large volume and/or complex employee relations issues. A professional with insurance or finance industry related experience.
