Payroll Specialist (CN)

Job Location: Mt Lakes, N.J.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing all tasks necessary to accurately accomplish payroll processing and HR objectives.

Assist with processing on-cycle/off-cycle semimonthly and bi-weekly payrolls. Process wage garnishments and other payroll input to ensure compliance with Federal and State law. Reconcile 401K contributions and loans after each on-cycle payroll. Create wire transfers for various vendors and departments for on-cycle/off-cycle payroll for review and signature. Support the processing of all payroll transactions including time entry, retroactive adjustments, benefit enrollments/deductions and special entries i.e. stock transactions, relocation, etc. Aid with routing of invoices to secure appropriate approvals, vendor file maintenance, posting invoices, reconciliation of payroll checking accounts and the preparation of internal and external audit documentation requests. Process various payroll reports, including Monthly New Hire Reporting. Liaise with the Accounting Department to assist with payroll accounting issues, including journal entries for payroll related accruals and reconciliation of payroll and benefit related expenses as well as balance sheet related accounts. Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.). Assist with preparing the quarterly reconciliations and reviewing to Statement of Deposits and Filing. Ensure compliance with company policies/procedures and maintain confidentiality and security of employee’s information. Work closely with the HRIS Support team to research/solve payroll transaction/system issues, conduct payroll testing and ad-hoc projects.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business. 2 + years of progressive payroll experience with multi state payrolls. Proficiency in computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
