Global Director of Enterprise Architecture (BC)

The Director, Enterprise Architecture, will accelerate our technology function to meet our business goals, maximize the business value from our information technology investments, and unleash overarching innovation for our organization, employees and customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leverage expert knowledge across existing and emerging platforms, processes and architectures to leads and influence geographically dispersed teams. Continuous interaction with leadership and partners to ensure their needs and requirements are met, as well as providing them with the current state and impacts to their markets. Maintains professional knowledge of current trends and developments IT Infrastructure synergies, roadmap, domain models and architecture blueprints to educate technology teams and stakeholders. Institutes guiding principles (city planning, technology standards, application portfolio management with buy/sell/hold modeling), standard deployed technology lists, and reference architectures. Assessing current state, business goals and challenges, capabilities and existing technology investments and utilizing a deep understanding of a broad range of architecture domains to drive visible improvements, set enterprise standards and governance. Standing up an Architecture Review Board (ARB) and leading the planning and prioritization of strategic Enterprise Architecture related initiatives with sponsorship. Orchestrating and overseeing the realization of these initiatives and of their benefits and value. Sponsor all internal overarching Enterprise Architecture topics, related projects and transformation efforts. Responsible for the quality and performance of the Enterprise Architect related services provided from managed service providers. Provides direction to the team to ensure the managed service partners have the necessary process, tools, and support to be successful and adhere to our over-arching strategy, standards and policies. Overall responsibility for the completion of audit remediation tasks related to the scope of the applicable services. Accountable for the development, monitoring, and compliance to the relevant budget.

Required Skills:
Requires expert knowledge across existing and emerging platforms, processes and architectures. This position includes directing the efforts of an architecture team. This leader must have the skills, experience and agility to influence people and organizations, including executive management. This leader will also share a common set of characteristics that drive innovation and value for our customers. This role must also be able to have a deep understanding of a broad range of architecture domains including: Business - Describes behavior at the business layer including information flows, processes, roles and work practices that impact business objectives and capabilities. Data - Describes data structures used by business processes or systems. Application - Maps applications and business capabilities to describe how systems interact within the organization. Information - Facilitates the modeling of data structures as they relate to business applications and capabilities. Technical - Describes the behavior of infrastructure platforms and the business systems that they support. Used to serving demanding industries, driven by technology and innovation with constraints imposed by various regulatory bodies and security. Demonstrated ability to select, train, develop, manage and lead teams. Proven experience acquired working in complex multi-cultural, matrix environments, at the international level. The individual will bring real know how and demonstrated ease to evolve in a truly global enterprise. Will bring substantial experience in managing technology organizations in a distributed, multi-national setup. Strong business acumen, process management and vendor management skills and experience. Proven track record of leading project teams. Extensive experience in vendor interaction, negotiation and management. Ability to focus/align organization around critical initiatives, best practices and guiding principles. Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients, senior management, staff, and vendors.

Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 15 years Technology Management experience in a large global organization supporting large multi-pillar global initiatives and teams. In addition, focus on architecture excellence and optimization across the global technology groups. 8-10 years of which in related Information Technology and/or business experience. Proven expertise in information management and technology best practices in support of commercial activities in developed and emerging regions. ITIL certification. Master's Degree or PHD or equivalent experience preferred. Banking industry experience preferred.
