Human Resources Manager – Payroll
The HR Manager will be responsible for processing payroll, handling employee relations issues, benefits administration, compliance, workers compensation and other HR duties. Ability to function in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administer Human Resource policies and procedures and develop new processes and procedures as needed. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and compliance related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with outside counsel when necessary. Updates policy manual as legally required. Prepares Offer Letters and Severance Agreements as needed. Advice and counsel to managers on employment-related matters. Administer workers compensation , disability claims and employee leaves. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Handle the administration of payroll for a population of 200+ employees. Experience with ADP Workforce Now. Partner with 3rd party vendors as it relates to payroll. Handle Bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees.
Respond to inquiries regarding benefit programs and resolve issues with multiple health plans, dental, vision, life, AFLAC. Determine eligibility and send out benefit package to locations on a monthly basis. Enroll and terminate employees into benefit programs via vendor websites. Reconcile monthly benefit bills and determine cost by location, and submit to bookkeepers for payment. Coordinate benefit deductions with Payroll. Manage multiple annual open enrollments, meet and communicate with insurance brokers, supplying census data utilizing ADP HRIS, make recommendations, calculate employer vs. employee contributions, plan and prepare communication and enrollment materials and send open enrollment materials to locations, audit enrollment forms for accuracy, submit to carriers. Respond to medical support orders. Manage the New Hire and Termination Processes. Perform background checks, review, and make recommendations for hire. Review new hire paperwork and coordinate with Payroll. Maintain I-9 forms. Make up employee files and maintain employee files and records. Coordinate termination paperwork with Payroll. Prepare COBRA packets.
Ability to identify, research, and solve problems in a timely manner. Plan, organize and prioritize workflow. Adaptable and flexible with changing priorities.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s Degree (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered). Minimum 5 years of experience with a working knowledge of human resources and payroll. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to interact effectively with all levels. Strong focus on customer service. Self- directed and motivated. Experience utilizing an HRIS system. Experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus. Microsoft Word and Excel.
