Our client, a national distribution firm, is currently seeking a new Inventory Accounting Manager to oversee growing team. Manage monthly/quarterly close process including setting close calendar and communicating to staff, monitoring staff progress, reviewing reconciliations completed by staff, preparing and analyzing monthly reconciliations & results for assigned entities. Identifies and manages surplus and obsolete inventory. Proactively works to reduce and manage this inventory. Understands the impact of slow-moving inventory on the procurement process. Oversees Order Entry process to ensure that orders are entered to best impact inventory usage such as managing and overseeing the use of Future Orders for maximum advantage. Works with Management to achieve the best optimized inventory. Projects future usage change and understands their impact on the system. Complies with the attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance. Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Coordinating the budget process. Hiring, training and supervising accounting staff. Communicates with Management on all Cycle Count variances to find root cause of problems and to keep the problem from reoccurring. Manage and analyze intercompany transactions. Supervise a team of 3.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum experience required. 2 yrs operational staff position. Interpersonal communication, writing skills, and highly organized. Computer literacy. Microsoft Office; other inventory control/procurement procedures a plus.
