Private Equity owned, rapidly growing manufacturing company is searching for an Accounting Manager for a newly created role. This is an extremely hands on, full cycle accounting role that offers tremendous growth potential to the right candidate. Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Accounting experience, a combination of experience in a public accounting and manufacturing, distribution, or plant accounting experience.
Hands on responsibility and oversight of key accounting functions including financial closing, financial reporting, revenue recognition, bank transactions, cost accounting, inventory accounting, accounts receivable and payable. Manage staff including training, developing and completing performance reviews. Prepare and post journal entries. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and cash-flow projections. Maintain all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Participate in month end closes as needed. Ensure company policies and best practices are being applied. Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization. Evaluate product costing and margins and adjust as required based on cost input or manufacturing changes. Provide financial analyses for decision-making regarding pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management. Provide additional insight to operations on KPI metrics such as but not limited to waste, cost of quality, labor efficiency, inventory fluctuations and obsolescence. Assist with internal and external audits. Preparation of budgets and forecasts; participate in business planning and analyses. Lead business-related projects and duties as needed.
Management and leadership experience overseeing daily operational accounting staff and functions. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required. Combination of public accounting (Big Four accounting firm) and experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. High proficiency all Microsoft Office products. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required. Experience with standard cost accounting preferred. Experience analyzing manufacturing costs.
