Fast growing national company is seeking a new SOX Audit Manager
Major responsibilities include:
Develops the methodology for reviewing financial reporting and processes to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) by creating the strategy for determining levels of risks associated with financial applications and business processes; establishing criteria for review of financial transactions or reporting. Oversees process improvements to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) by participating in meetings between process owners. Assesses all financial reporting to ensure there are no Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) issues by evaluating established financial controls; and reviewing financial reports and presenting findings to executive leadership. Ensure the ICFR testing program is properly executed including staff and resources are adequately supervised; the documentation of testing meets quality standards, results with applicable conclusions and recommendations are properly communicated; and adequate action plans are captured for control issues. Oversee implementation of boundary system controls in collaboration with business and system owners (Data/IT, Product, Ops). Manage the quarterly control certification program and report results. Follow up on control issues and action plans, and report periodically to the Internal Audit Director any action plans not effectively implemented. Assist the Internal Audit Director to periodically report results to Senior Management, the Steering Committee and Audit Committee. Collaborate with all stakeholders to help draw conclusions on the annual ICFR program. Oversee the Internal Controls application and the staff member assigned as the administrator. Ensure the principles of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and competency are applied and upheld. Possess or obtain the knowledge, skills, and other competencies needed to meet the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley program. Consider emerging trends and successful practices in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Adhere to policies and procedures designed to guide the Sarbanes-Oxley program and the Internal Audit Department. Affirm adherence to relevant policies and procedures unless such policies and procedures conflict with the Internal Audit Charter. Any such conflicts will be resolved or otherwise communicated to Senior Management and the Audit Committee. Manage assigned staff and outsourced/co-sourced compliance resources. Lead special projects as assigned by the Internal Audit Director. Perform other duties as assigned by the Internal Audit Director, including performance of Internal Audits.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelors from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or finance. Professional certification a plus (CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, etc.). 8-10 + years of progressive experience in internal audit, accounting, and finance with prior public accounting experience strongly preferred and public company audit experience. Strong analytical, organization and project management skills. Advanced collaboration skills. Must be able to succinctly summarize complex information to a diverse audience of internal colleagues, leaders and the Audit Committee.
