The HR Manager will oversee, develop and implement the HR strategy for two plants- both salaried and hourly employees, will drive communication and best practices across all functions to facilitate continuous improvement. The Human Resource Manager will act as business partner responsible for driving employee relations and advocacy, employee communications, organizational development and ensuring compliance. The HR Manager will also be responsible for facilitating long-term initiatives aligned with the business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contribute to the business objectives by assisting business leaders in identifying, prioritizing and building on organizational goals. Act as a liaison between Operations and HR to ensure services are aligned with the needs of the business. Carry out projects as determined in the HR plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives along with Corporate HR teams. Ensure application of corporate and plant policies, collective bargaining agreements and/or plant practices. Communicate HR programs and policies to plant staff and address all related questions. Conduct investigations of potential policy violations. Foster a strong leadership and coaching culture within the organization. Identify and resolve employee issues through open communication and interaction with employees. Collaborate with business leaders to provide employees with development opportunities as aligned with current and future performance standards. Champion the Talent Management Process and ensure timely, accurate and fair assessments of employee performance are conducted per the corporate guidelines. Assist managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the business goals. Administer the local Workers' Compensation program, oversee the unemployment claims process and management of the relationship with company health care providers. Promote the Strategic Labor Relations Plan or the Union Avoidance Plan for the facility, if applicable. Administer CA Employment and Labor Laws, Cal-OSHA, and the continually changing CA employment landscape. Recruit candidates for all hourly and salaried positions. Manage Environmental, Health and Safety facility reporting per corporate requirements and participate in the plants' EHS management system.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related discipline is required. 4-6 years of experience in an exempt level Human Resources position. 1-2 years of managerial experience preferred. SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification is preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Familiar with OSHA reporting, regulations and compliance.
