The Financial Analyst is a newly created role that will be supporting the Global Communication departments by developing budgets and managing expenses to meet financial objectives.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all financial functions for the Operating. Expenses for the Global Communications area: Complete all close, estimate and budgetary processes for the income statement and balance sheet accounts. Complete monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting. Assist Advertising Finance Manager and Controller on various ad-hoc requests (special projects, presentations, GAAP research, etc.). Key liaison with Advertising departments related to all financial matters: Prepare monthly financials and attend monthly review meetings with department managers. Work with operational partners to understand their businesses, related processes and identify accounting and finance related questions/issues. Provide financial and accounting guidance and support to operational partners as needed. Work with the Advertising Manager and Controller in resolving day-to-day accounting issues.



ACTUALS: Timely and accurate review of actual results to ensure completion, accuracy, proper classification and compliance with US GAAP. Reconcile, analyze and manage P&L and balance sheet accounts. Identify and communicate variances to estimate/budget. Assist in analyzing legal contracts/SOW’s and obligations. Monitor and analyze expenses, perform formal reconciliations and investigate
esolve variances in a timely manner. Review invoices and T&E expense reports to ensure they comply with company policy and are in line with the budget, reporting material variances.



ESTIMATE: Understand estimate assumptions and review for reasonableness and timing, challenging where appropriate. Identify, communicate and track full year risks and opportunities. Track movement between various accounts and advertising jobs to ensure the department as a whole closes the year on budget.



BUDGET: Assist with the preparation of the Advertising bi-annual Budget process. Attend budget meetings and work with operational partners to complete budgets and Two Year Plans. Challenge assumptions to ensure sound logic and completion, including amounts and timelines. Preparation of budget packages, templates and variance explanations. Consolidation of budgets. Assist with preparation of top-level schedules and presentations. Ad-hoc analyses.





REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: 2–4 years of experience, preferably in Corporate Finance environment or Public Accounting.


Education: BS in Accounting or Finance.


Skills: Experience with EssBase and SAP. Strong analytical skills & detail oriented. Ability to see the “big picture” while working with details. Ability to take ownership of recurring job responsibilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to improve processes is a plus. PC skills – Microsoft Office (primarily Excel). Flexibility to work as workload requires (Heavy workload required during key financial processes such as year-end, preparation of.
